There is no waste – everything is useful

“Waste not, want not”, says the proverb, urging us to repair, care, reconfigure, accept blemishes, adapt what we have rather than enter an endless cycle of throwing out the old and replacing it with the new. Think of the future life of what you are designing, avoiding all potential obsolescence, allowing it to evolve over time. Don’t design for wants if they simply fuel consumption and the production of future waste, but instead address needs.
